GSM radios can be used to communicate throughout South Africa and even into Sub-Saharan Africa.
GSM technology operates by using a sim card. When pushing the push-to-talk button (PTT) the communication is sent to the controlling server via the chosen cellphone network.
The server then redirects the communication to the relevant radios that have been set up in the same group.
